ALOHA!
Of course, “cheap” in Waikiki or Honolulu is a relative term since we are talking about Hawaii here.
Much like cheap flights to Hawaii are relative.
When we think of Oahu hotels, you basically can think of cheap hotel rates in Waikiki as anything under $150 a night.
But it becomes difficult to find REALLY GOOD hotels with REALLY GOOD reviews at that price.
So the hotels on this list you may be able to find for under $200 a night.
Prices can fluctuate so it might go a bit above when you look for your dates.
In general, some hotels also have resort fees or “amenity fees” which may or may not be included in the first price you see.
If you plan to rent a car, you’ll want to keep in mind that Waikiki parking garages may also be an added expense. This might add $25 a day to your stay. Some hotels do include free parking with limited spaces, so that is something you can look for too.
This list is basically split into 3 sections based on the area of Waikiki Beach it’s located.
Waikiki is not really a big area, so you will be a 10-15 minute walk from the beach by staying at any of the listed hotels below.
The difference will be which part of the beach you can get to in that amount of time.
Waikiki Beach itself is around 2 miles long, so even a 30 minute walk will likely get you to many places.
All this to say…
As far as location goes, you really can’t go wrong with any of these.
But, NONE of these will be beachfront hotels.
