If you’re staying in the main area of Hampi town, then this restaurant will be nearby and easy to get to.

Okay, so the main tourist area of Hampi is not that big at all, so all restaurants around here will be rather convenient!

But it’ll also be easy to find because you’ll probably find a sign (or 2) pointing you in the direction of Mango Tree, even if you’re not looking for it.

You can sit on the floor.

3. There’s wifi

Well, this is Hampi.

It seems to be a thing all around Hampi to not have great wifi, so keep your expectations low no matter where you are around Hampi!

Still, it’s nice to be able to sit and drink tea (or a fresh fruit drink!) with some wifi, right?!

And, there are plenty of charging points here too.

4. Ask your questions about Hampi!

And maybe get a map!

When you’re finished eating and you’re ready to move on with your day (or you’re ready for a day of activities the next day!), you can ask your questions to the staff.

They speak English and they are helpful!

5. There’s a bicycle rental place nearby

Just down the street from the restaurant, there’s a place to rent bicycles. You can ask the staff.

I rented one for 100 rupees for the day. This was June 2019.

So where to go with a bicycle rental?!

Cross the river on a ferry (50 rupees for you and your bike total)…

And then start making your way to Anjanadri Hill for amazing views of Hampi!

So basically…

Have your breakfast at Mango Tree…

And then go rent a bicycle…

And then off you go for cycling to see Hampi ruins and Hampi stones!

Nervous about taking public transportation in India?! Sometimes just knowing what to expect can ease the mind! While I have traveled in India with travel partners (people I've met while traveling in India), here are some of my public transport trips in India, most of which I did as a solo female traveler:
