Now…
A few more details!
Exit the airport and go right!
Facing the direction to leave the airport, you want to go to the right.
Once you’re outside the airport, ask someone who looks like they might know things.
People who work at the airport are usually good people to ask!
There was a small kiosk selling snacks, and I asked the guy who worked there where I can find a bus to Vasco.
He seemed pretty confident with his answer.
Walk to the main road and find the bus stop
Basically, first you want to walk towards the main road.
There was a little booth near the main road, and I also asked here for further clarification where the bus stop is.
It’s basically at this main road that you’ll immediately be at the bus stop.
As you are facing the main road, you want to go left, and it’s almost right there.
There’s nothing official indicating it’s a bus stop, but you might see a bus that’s already waiting there.
If you don’t, it probably won’t be long before another bus comes.
Just remember this image to know whereabouts the bus to Vasco will be in case there’s no bus when you get there!
What are the bus timings from the airport to Vasco?
I think the frequency of buses going to Vasco from the airport are frequent enough.
This means that you can just show up to this bus stop and there will likely be a bus that will come soon enough if it’s not already there.
In the short time I was at the airport, I actually saw 3 buses at this bus stop.
This makes me believe that there are tons of buses headed away from the airport!
Get on the bus to Vasco!
How much does it cost to go to Vasco by bus?
Once you get on the bus, there will be a guy who will come around to collect the bus fare.
The bus fare for the airport to Vasco cost me 10 rupees (US$0.15).
Enjoy the bus ride
Okay so there’s not really much to enjoy on this stretch of road. 😉 In fact, it’s a bit sad as there’s lot of trash… not a great first impression of Goa if you’re just arriving to Goa for the first time by flight!
How long is the bus ride?
The bus I was on left a couple minutes after 11am, and it arrived right around 11:20am.
So the bus ride was around 20 minutes long.
Arrive near Vasco bus stand
The drop-off point of the bus I was on was near the “Vasco Market” as listed on Google Maps.
If you’re headed to Panjim, it was a further 5 minute or so walk to go to where the buses to Panjim depart from.
You can ask around where to go, but basically start walking in the direction that you see all the buses.
Then you’ll walk to the very end, passing a temple, and then you’ll come across a booth that sells “shuttle bus” tickets to Panjim.
And that’s the bus ride from the airport to Vasco!
