What are the best places to eat in Alleppey?
Hi there!
The central area of Alleppey really isn’t that big, so any of these restaurants are a short rickshaw ride away from you if you stay near Alleppey Beach or in town!
Pictured above is Sea Shore restaurant right along Alleppey Beach, a 10 minute walk from this guesthouse that’s in a residential area at the far north end of Alleppey Beach.

More of the best places to eat in Alleppey?!
1. Eat from the comfort of your own guesthouse! 😉
Stay at a guesthouse with a kitchen, and the options are limitless! 😉
Make your own breakfast…
Make your own super simple and cheap lunch…
2 packets of maggi = 20 rupees (30 cents) 😀
Make your own dinner by cooking the seafood that Kerala is known for! This makes Kerala a perfect place to prepare your own seafood dinner of course.
There are a few restaurants that deliver too so you can eat at your guesthouse that way as well. Although sometimes it can feel like it takes a long time for the food to arrive! (Mushroom, Halais, and Amaze World are among the places that deliver.)
And since Kerala is the “land of coconuts” (literal meaning) and land of rum (it feels like it anyway)…
Also from your guesthouse, you can make your own drink with rum and fresh coconut water…
Or you can make a fresh pina colada drink if your guesthouse has a blender! (Rum, coconut, pineapple.)
Or keep it non-alcoholic by making a coconut and pineapple smoothie without the alcohol!
And if you do all of this at your guesthouse, once you’re finished, no need to find a rickshaw to take you back. You can go straight to the hammock. 😉
😀
Clearly, this guesthouse with a kitchen is a good place to eat. 😉
2. Eat on the backwaters!
Go on a full-day village canoe tour and you’ll get Kerala homestay food in the way of breakfast and lunch!
And be sure you have a coconut on the backwaters too!
First drink the coconut water…
Then don’t forget to eat the coconut meat!
And if you go on the popular Alleppey to Kollam tourist ferry that takes you through the backwaters, you’ll get a chance to eat some Kerala cuisine for lunch too!
